Trauma Informed Care Network
The Cross-Section of Trauma and Poverty
The Wilson Foundation and the Rochester Area Community Foundation are working together to raise awareness about Trauma Informed Care. As the SHIFT Study shows, underlying issues relating to traumatic experiences prevent barriers to self-sustainability.
Understand the intersection of generational trauma and poverty.
Read the Position Statement submitted to the United Way of Greater Rochester for ideas on how to create a Trauma Informed Community.
Trauma Informed Schools
As part of the conversation about trauma and the impact on children, the Foundation, RACF, TIG and CCSI have developed a Resource Guide for educators. The development of the guide is in direct response to the ACEs data from the Monroe County Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which assess health risk behavior in high school students.
Reference the Trauma-Informed Schools Resource Guide to help understand what you can do today, and how you can develop a trauma-informed school.
